Management: Project Meetings Log

In order to manage our project successfully, we held regular team meetings and meetings with our contributors to update on the work that had been completed, as well as plan what the next steps need to be. We kept a log of all the meetings to ensure all members knew the actions being taken for the project. This is outlined below.

14. 10.19 – Studio Test Run (CD, EM, AG)

CD, EM, AG went into the studio with an artist, set it up and recorded a guitar/vocal track simultaneously to try and increase proficiency within the studio.
Table meeting to discuss artists we would like to have on the album, and potential songs that would work well together and fit with the artist’s genres to create a cohesive compilation.
Researched the licensing we would need for the release of the album.
Booked first studio session for Thursday 17^th2:15-4:15pm

16.10.19 – MEETING WITH BEN (CD, EM)

Sat and completed the artist contracts
Met with Ben to confirm him as our sound technician to mix and master all tracks for our Christmas Album.
Created a grid of recording sessions to allow artists to book into timeslots that suit them.

17.10.19 – LUCY BELL RECORDING SESSION 14.15-16:15 (ALL)

First studio session, AJ led technical, CD EM AG equipment set up.
Only one hiccup which was easily resolved with Marcus’s help.
Finalised our artist list, removing Joey Bill, and Joel Francis from the line-up.

21.10.19 – ADAM THORN RECORDING SESSION 11:15-14:15 (ALL)

AJ led technical, CD, EM, AG on Christmas decorations.
Ross Kinsey (videographer) joined to collect footage for ‘In the Box Sessions’
HUNI removed from the line-up.
After recording, table meeting with Noah Jenkins to confirm him as an artist and choose a track.

22.10.19 – SANDRA MEETING (13:30) EM, AG, AJ

Meeting with Sandra (fresher artist) to confirm her involvement.
Wasn’t able to confirm a song so we need to pick a song for her and schedule a recording session.

23.10.19 – OTB Table Meeting 13:30-15:00 // XMAS GIG MEETING (ALL)

Confirmed all artists and their chosen Christmas songs.
Began to look into licensing and reached out to Pili to organise funding.
EM met up with CK to go to Whittle Taps and confirm details for the Xmas gig.
Venue confirmed, 4:00pm arrival time, 5pm soundcheck, DJ opening at 7pm. £2 entry

24.10.19 – MEETING WITH BEN 13:30 (CD,EM,AJ)

Listened through the first 2 tracks with Ben
Discussed the changes needed to Adam’s master – harmony arrangement and removal of tick track
Confirmed Ben as the opener for the Xmas gig.

29.10.19 – MEETING WITH CASS 4:30 (CD, EM, AG)

Told her about the concept of the album.
Looked at her portfolio of designs
Pitched our ideas for the album cover and spoke about what she was thinking.
Confirmed her involvement and gave her a timeline for completion.

12.11.19 – ELLERY CONFIRMED TO MASTER

We realised that Ben might struggle to mix and master all the tracks on time as we were behind schedule.
Aaron approached Ellery Forster asking if he would like to be involved
Ellery confirmed he would mix Gina and Noah’s tracks and help Ben with the mastering.

12.11.19 – IntheBox Promo released

The promotional video for IntheBox was agreed by all team members and released on the Facebook page.

18.11.19 RECORDINGS COMPLETED – (CD, AJ)

All recording sessions completed.
Spoke to Ben to find out mixing progress, he was just finishing Theo’s track leaving 3 to be done

27.11.19 – Met with Ben and Ellery – (EM, CD)

We met with producers to ensure they were nearly finished.
They were mastering tracks and said they would have them sent to us by the end of the day.

09.12.19 – Aaron’s interview on BBC Radio Gloucestershire

Aaron went on BBC Radio Gloucestershire to speak about Boxed Records and the work we are doing.

11.12.19 – Charlotte interview on BBC Radio Gloucestershire

Charlotte went on the radio with artist Lucy Bell to promote the Christmas album play snippets of the tracks and talk about the album launch.
